I would like to kindly extend to you my greetings on the State’s date. Just it coincided that these greetings will reach you when we should have landed already in Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun. Yet even huge distances are not an obstacle for the thoughts on the native square foot of land, on Lithuania, the future of which we fall responsible for. I hereby wish everyone that our endeavours would converge into the universal national will to create a state based on conscious and justice. I wish the awaking day would bring to every home more welfare and hope.

There are no doubts that the idea for the Lithuanian military aviators to fly around Europe was stimulated by the tragic flight of Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas from America to Lithuania. Nevertheless, these flights were bound not just by spiritual ties. After accusations of failure to support “Lituanica” flight, the Lithuanian Government favoured the initiative of military aviators and that was kind of a possibility for its rehabilitation.
